Ha,ha! That guy needs to get beat down. I have a friend who interned at Ford this summer and Honda definately is not owned by Ford. You can check out the web page. www.ford.com . It list companies they're associated with. The most recent company they acquired is Land Rover

My dad works for American Honda/DOT in Marysville (safety research, so don't ask for Honda Tech Specs!)
so I figured he'd be the guy to ask.
The magic of Honda is that they are still their own entity, and there is no controlling interest in the company other than the company itself.
So, there were talks and speculation, but Honda is still "Honda." Thank god.

BMW and Honda are one of the few companies that still remains independent. That guy may have been thinking of Mazda. Mitsubishi is getting bought by another company but I can't remember by whom.
Honda has contracted with GM though. GM will be purchasing the LEV 3.0 VTEC V6 from Honda and Honda will be buying small block V8s for their upcoming truck.
